A near perfect early Trenton anvil with clean logo markings. Many later Tentons had a “typo” stamp with the letters TREXTON”. It is unlnown if this was a die cutting error or done for some other reason. However, there are many Trentons marked with the X.

Columbus Forge and Iron Co. made forged steel Trenton anvils. These are two or three piece anvils welded at the waist.
