American Wrought is a fairly rare anvil brand. They were located in Brooklyn NY near Hay-Budden and may have been started by a former Hay-Budden employee Walter F. Ring. They were in business from about 1899 to 1910-11 according Richard Postman author of Anvils in America.

American Wrought anvils were made by Dunn and Mercott and marked with their name. Dunn and Mercott anvil logos also had a circle with “American” in it. However, their markings were not consistant so generalizations about their logos should be avoided.
